A survey reveals that Married men do less housework than Live-in Boyfriends .
Do you think that this survey will encourage girls for live-in relationships?

Ugh! who did that survey?! How could they make such a sweeping statement; it's taken case to case. lols I think that marriage, live-in, or any other relationship for that matter, would truly depend on the persons involved in it. I see some marriages in which the husband shares in the housework beautifully ....and some live-in arrangements in which the male is such a big lazy inconsiderate slob. What would make this work or make the male actively involved in the responsibilities of keeping house is a no-nonsense approach to this kind of issue. A broader understanding of expectations obligations and responsibilities and a realistic view of the marriage can pave the way for doing what should be jointly done in the home. The old Stereotypes of male and female roles are disappearing and replaced by this kind of give-and-take environment in home management. I don't believe that one should do specific things just because she is female... or rather that one should not do anything that a female is expected to do because he is male. That doesn't work anymore. It's old school. A relationship of sharing has a better chance of making it in this rough and tumble world of marriages or live-in's. The thing is know your own strengths and weaknesses, communicate it, and put these to good and better use in your home with your partner for the kind of life you both mutually agree to have.

Hopefully, it would, since legally, physically, and financially, in the context of Our Constitution, live in relationships are better for women than a married relationship. Marriage is merely an illusion of security. Live in legally has the following advantages for women. 1.Rape is not a crime if committed by a husband but a crime if committed by the boyfriend. So a woman has basic control over her body. 2.Women in live in dont have illusions of financial security, a married woman thinks her husband will take care of her financially, but in the event of divorce, no hard assets and no portion of his investments, provident fund or pension would come to her. Even alimony,is at the judge's discretion and based on her husband's income. The most she could hope for, would be one-fifth of the husband's pre-tax (roughly a third of his post-tax) income as alimony. And that too has to be proved by her. A woman in a live is more likely to think about financial planning than a wife. And the element of dowry gets missed in live-ins. 3.Wives are not natural guardians or even co-guardians of their children. A woman had to go to Supreme Court to open even a bank deposit in her son's name. But thats not the case when it comes to a live in. So its not a bad deal even for the children in the relationship. 4.Wives are not supposed to look care for their parents. As long as this happens, female foeticide will continue, and that means less brides for men. While in live in, its easier for her to take care of her parents financially and emotionally. 5.Emotionally none who get divorced think during their marriage, that it could end in divorce. Atleast in live-ins people are better prepared for a split. In marriage, the focus is on a grand wedding but not the relationship after it. And the appearance of a happy relationship. But in live in, the focus is on the couple. Ultimately it depends on the couple. But the sensible option for women, is definitely live in, in the current social-legal environment.
