Blasts in Ahmedabad

Do you think that the lack of tough anti-terror laws and weak intelligence machinery should be blamed for the serial blasts in Ahmedabad?

Jaksha Shah says: Before we blame Government or the law, we have to look into us। What we do to prevent this, nothing, though we are the soft targets for them. After repeated advertisement to watch people around you for doubtful behavior, they successfully plant bombs at more than 20 places in 2 cities. None of the citizen saw them. What politicians do ? They will blame each other and do not let police work properly. If few of them are arrested and beaten by the public, they may not do that again. Those who plant the bombs are more probably not armed. Though tough rules will help to minimize the frequency of blasts, it won't stop that.

Ruggedboyz says: In the century we live in bomblast, terrorism and fugitives are a global phenomenon. Also in a world of sensible people some insensitive physcho freaks co exists too, so its only on the government now to be paranoid for the life of its people, of the security and take not human life easily. for the one who dies maynt mean anything to the government mroe then a lil thousand or a lakh of compensation but he means a lot to his relative and friends for whom he was dear . Just that its high time we tighten things and not be part of another 3rd world country ala pakistan where terrorism easily thrives coz of all kinds of प्रेस्सुरेस

Busybee says: In this over populated country of ours, with cities so jam packed with humans, its difficult to fight crime of any kind, unless we increase the strength of our police force॥ and also for the intelligence depts।

Niceguy251 says:I agree with Jaksha that what we as public are doing? Should we not be alert if not for others then for our own sake? In today's time we do not even know our neighbours। I am not recommending being nosey but be aware of our surroundings. How many of us will tell the person who leaves a bag in public conveyance or on cycle " Bhai sahib, aap apna bag lejana bhool gaye". Our politician have to forget their petty differences and blaming each other to join hands to fight this menace. If they do not, we the public should vow not to vote for such selfish leaders who look for small gains at the cost of we the public. Interference with police or intelligence agencies has to stop. What is the need of any politician being escorted by a dozen black cat gun tottong commandos everywhere? If they perceive threat to themselves then what about poor common man?

Brahmanyan says:Ours is over populated Country। The cities are growing at geometric proportion with the influx of people from all parts of the Country. Blaming the Government is highly unfair. The Governments do not have identity of individuals except the permanent citizens. First we must have national Registry with identification cards for all. There should be stricter Laws to punish the culprits once caught like Pota. Only fear of punishment will deter the offenders. Police and intelligence forces should be trained to face the needs of new situations and be given full freedom to act. Our Media, both print and visual are highly irresponsible ones. They publicize the probes on day to day basis to gain viewer-ship and ratings. I am from Bangalore. At least three blasts took place around our locality last Friday. I should say that our Police and Government Agencies did exemplary job in keeping this over crowded City peaceful and directed the traffic in orderly way after the incidents.

The girl next door says:M not very sure of increasing the number of police forces will help. We are a vast and diversified country which lacks proper channels of communications. How would u explain the serial blasts across 2 cities and not even the intelligence agencies having a clue regarding them. Even if we increase the number of police personnels if we do not know where to seek information from and how to I doubt it would help us anywhere in keeping a step ahead of terrorism. Mechanisms such as social security numbers could go a long way in ensuring we have everyone accounted for. Govt likewise should rise about the parliament dramas and take steps to protect the common man and not just dhoti clad netas and celebs. As an individual we all should be alert of suspicious people and objects and not just shy away from raising an alarm , even if its a false one. Its very sad how even authorities at railways stations are so negligent about the safety of commuters.. most of the screening machines at major stations dont work and baring these few days of "high alert" one could not find too many police personnels around. All in all we are on our own.

Women are happier than Men

Researchers questioned nearly 9,800 people over the age of 50 about their lives and found that women are happier than men and have a better quality of life ।What are the reasons that make them happier?

Shweta says:They can discuss their problems and let out their emotions flow in front of their friends, especially their women friends। So that makes them happy. Men tend to keep their problems to themselves rather than discuss it.

Busybee says:doesnt it all depend on what the 50+ men need to mk them happy ?

Lp says:Kyon nahin? They have husbands: kitna bhi 'band' bajao, hus(ta) ghulami karega nah?
men have 'nagging' wives, demanding mistresses, scheming colleagues and obscurantist bosses to with, not to mention the grocers,
butchers, post office clerks, bank tellers and what not.... and ungrateful relatives॥

Niceguy251 says:It is a well established fact that after menopause women are more in control of their emotions, stronger mentally and more focussed thus making them happy। Men on the other hand are more worried about their performance in all the aspects as they have reached the peak and are on downhill by then thus for obivious reasons are more in anxiety than happy.

Ruggedboyz says:if that can of a research is done those people also dwells deeply into the reasons behind what exactly is the reason for a feeling of content at old age to women but for me i think women are the all time gossipers, and can keep busy with the most trivial thing like netting a sweater unlike men who are more likely to have fun by going out and with people but strangely at old age most people dessert you and as a old man you no longer part due to various cultural and medical reasons thus i guess this result may well be true but i do think this changes from individual to individual and we well may find some men more intelligent then वूमेन

Virtualscorpio says:I'd go wid shweta, men tend 2 multiply their woes, women divide them by sharing। also i feel women have more capacity 2 take abuse then men do

SKJ says:Security in the relationship makes the women happier than to the men in their 50+ Women need not to worry when their men are 50+ but but but exceptions - KHAI KE PAAN wala angry old man urf Ghass phoos. ;D ;D

Jewellery and Backache

Those shiny earrings, neck chains and even fillings might be giving you the 'bling' edge over the others, but in the bargain you're putting your back at stake, that's what a leading chiropractor says.Do you think that this news will affect the lifestyle of people?

Busybee says: Rubbish... a necklace for a few hrs does not cause a backache। Mothers go to work with babies slung across their backs॥ and nothing ever happens to them.

LP says:BULL, CRAP...yet, I thnik Chiropractor shouldn't complain if it was true।

Niceguy251 says: I do not think so unless the neckless is like a " sangal " which is the chain across cow or bufflow's neck।

Ruggedboyz says: its nice if the study done complies by the basic laws of physics and science it is one which when strikes the ears drums, one must feel elated of the fact that onces ignorance in that topic or region of study was eliminated also leave one elfstuck of the fact why this thing ddnt strike me before the discoverer like 1 if u are friends you also fight apart from being friends 2 if the apple falls it is because of gravitation but but but one like this one if it defies all laws and basic understanding of nature it is disturbing and annoying and also to an extend enraging to here a mere piece of jewel can cause me back aches. For gods sake its not sachin tendulkars williow my friend

Survival of UPA Government

Do you thing that UPA Government would complete its full term?

Vamsi says: looks like the congress party has avoided the elections that had become quite likely owing to LEFTs threat to leave the government। SP has come to its rescue ... and congress again seems to have gained some confidence ... and is ready to go ahead with the deal ... surely, there are no permanent friends and enemies in politics ... the great indian political tamasha at its best !

LP says: a counter question: when does the full term end? Only PVN went to polls after 60 months in office। Am I right? ABV went in for early polls. Do we say Vajpayee sarkar was not full term? MMS will go in for early polls, in all probability, around the time a new president is ushered into oval office. Will we say MMS sarkaar did not last full term if this is how it turns out? The nuclear deal will go through. If UPA, with SP support, does not manage the numbers inside the house (majority of attending and voting NO) to defeat the no confidence motion that the left might table, and has to resign, then it will remain as caretaker sarkaar till early next year. CAn we say, if that is how it turns out, it is not full term? In my view, the political dynamincs has changed entirely since last elections in 2004. It is time for all alliances to be recast based on a re-assessment of geo-political and geo-economical realities as will as the emerging power centres in international relations. Giving six months for such a process, it makes sense to have elections by late 2008 and early 2009. The added benefit of early elections: a) the campaign vehicles will raise less dust in the rural areas. b) there will be enough to eat after the harvest and industrial bonuses. c) there will be enough suger, cane and alcohol to entice voters to the booths. d) school-kids can sleep in the day and study during night under parental watch. e) anyone can add to this list, which i snot exhaustive॥

Niceguy251 says:As it is elections are due within a year now। Presently I do not think any party except BJP wants to go for polls immediately. They all want to delay it as long as it can be. As LP says polls may be called few months early but not immediately.

Busybee says:By full term if u mean, elections bought on by the oppn toppling the govt in a no confidence vote and not by being announced by the Govt।, then I think it will last its full term.

Virtualscorpio says:Yes , it should, tho' not by the fairest means
