Shilpa Shetty case and Judicial Indecency

Do you think that the issuance of arrest warrant for Hollywood actor Richard Gere for landing a peck on the cheeks of Shilpa Shetty is a case of Judicial Indecency?

A case of extreme idiotism.. period.

not at all .. these westerners need to be taught a lesson and given a warning ... that is what is being done here . they think they are God's gift to mankind ..of coure bollywoood actresses encourage it in many ways .. same with west indian cricketers .. In this case , Gere was way out of line .. he claims to be a spokesperson or whatever for the Dalai llama .... ha .my respect from him as plummeted ..his standing in the world should go down similarly ..its a good stand Indian judicialry has taken ...may have gone too far pehaps ...we may look old fashioned ...or even hypocritical ....but its necessary .

I think it's ridiculous! Why don't the people see the bigger issue (AIDS awareness) rather than waste their time over all this hype over something which is no big deal!! Love Divya

Was it really a kiss or lip lock ? It was a friendly on the spur of the moment peck. What are these so called upkeepers of morality (and the judge) doing about the indecent exposure in bollywood films and music videos ?

Keith said…
At last! I finally agree with Richard Gere on something--Shilpa is beautiful.

Tejbir said…
first that was not a peck! second, i believe that anyone except ms. shetty should be indifferent. if she has a problem, let her go to court if she doesn't have a problem, let her give Gere a dozen kisses in return where do rest of us come in the picture? and the ridiculous part is bringing in west-east/us-them issues

well everyone wants their 15 secs of fame. Its become a habit off late to make mountains outta molehills. This is another case of the same category. Rather than goin on with this crap the judiciary should look out on other important cases involving domestic violence, rape, dowry deaths. But no, wud that give the judge any kinda publicity?!?! This is all plain BS!! n it dosentt get any more ridiculous. I mean the court is acting as tho this is some case of National Importance. We all kno Shilpa Shetty, she's no doodh se dhuli!! she seems to be enjoying the so called "kiss" as can be seen from the pic. so its a case of consenting adults isnt it

Pretty hard to answer Yes or No. Firstly, Gere did go overboard in display of affection or whatsoever. One has to respect & follow the social norms of life where they are...! Secondly, Shilpa , IMHO, is not worth a penny to be noticed. Never known for great acting skills struck a goldpot thru Big Bro and has had her luck galloped. thats it. staying in limelight for some or other reason, flashing colgate smiles is the only business for such "tinpat" girls. Next, people demonstrating against this issue, are they talking abt the disease spread thru society ? How abt human trafficiking where a MP is caught ? There are also lot more things to be talked abt.

Shilpa-Gere chumban vivad par utha baval vajib hai.Hamari sanskruti is baat ki ejaajat nahi deti ki band kamre me ki janewali harkat ko sararvjanik pradharshan ki vishayvastu banaya jaay.Ghar ki chaardivari me bhi pati-patni ke sambhand maryada ki paridhi me hi rahate hai/Prem sambandon mein bhi Bhartiya Sanskruti Ashlilta ki Ijaajat nahi deti. Haalanki Shilp-Gere ne vyavsayik duniya ke Niti-Nirdhark Tatyo ka paripalan hi kiya hai,Lekin unhe shochana chahiye tha ki karaykram koun sa hai? isaka sandesh kya jayega? Ads ke khilaf sandesh denewale is program me aap uske khilaf sandesh de rahe hai, kitni sharmnaak baat hai?Aaap desh ke ek jimmedar nagrik hai kya yah bhiaapko batana hoga? Gere to Videshi the,Shilpa chaahe to is beja harkat ke liye Gere ko lataad sakti the.Lekin usne Yesa na karke lagaatar usake pakha mein me hi bayaan diya.jo thik nahi hai.Charitrik patan ki parakastha hai yah. Mere vichaar se liya gaya kadam uchit hai.

Aww, c'mon, there are far more important issues which deserve the limelight than a superstar's kiss or peck - promotional as it seems to be - whatever it is! Besides Hollywood actors and actresses will behave 'Hollywood' wherever they are. That goes for other personalities in different countries where they have gotten used to certain types or forms of staged public behavior. It happens here. That's why they call it 'showbiz' -- it's all for show and bizniz. lol And all that makes me go eeeyuckk!! So what's the fuss! :-)) How bout we talk on.... global warming, dirty politicians in government, the hungry in Africa, poverty in our respective countries, etc etc. We serve the world better by promoting awareness on those global issues. And who knows, maybe a rare specie of a good politician will chance upon this discussion board and be nudged in the right direction and agenda.

Thats the most ridiculous thing ....!!! There are already thousands of case pending , due to which many innocent are already suffering inside the jail.......to add another ridiculous case...!!!! India and lawyers cud have many more things to deal with....

OWWWWWWWWWWWW, I am incensed! How could you do it, Shilpa, my dahhling? Why did you foresake ME! :( And Gere...do you want all our women? Come on, go ahead...take their 'sans' away, pay for your 'kriti', but beware: we will chase you with our 'sanskriti' Yes, we want compensation. How about 121 billion dollars to pay off our national debt? NOW!!!

Samrat said…
Better put you energies into something that concerns the nation, not these inconsequential actors and actresses.

RAY said…
I think this is a case of SOUR GRAPES. I am quite sure the lawyer who filed the suit is extremly jealous of Gere.

Ganesh said…
Shilpa Shetty wants to be in news and the Hollywood now knows it. Richard Gere aided her desire with a big kiss and romantic bending hug which can be considered OK if it was a movie shot.....as it happens in cinema sets. When it is in the public domain, I don't think you can ignore it. If that is the case, media should have ignored it without showing it to the whole country. None seem to question the idiotism played by our juvenaile Indian media.........Left to them they could kill the Indian culture much faster in 20 years itself, than what we preserved during British rule or earlier.

Online Courses and Classroom Teaching

Distance Education Council allowed all premier institutes in the country to offer online courses. Do you think that online education can be as effective as traditional classroom teaching ?

blogesh said…
Not in all cases. IMO personal or classroom interaction carries more effectiveness in certain cases. GD's, Q & A done face to face make big difference.

Lostpatrol said…
They are fine for courses that do not need human interactions...

frenchita said…
No with class room teaching you have interrelationship with other intelligent people in the classroom with difference of opinion and competition .....this helps ...it makes the mind tick . online its just you and the computer ..there is no no diversification ,contradiction or competiton the pros would be convenience ,no necessity of travel ..it is now accepted in the world

Sharad said…
No, they can be helpful but not as effective as classroom teaching can be.

Thisisme .: Provoked! :. said…
They cant be as effective as Classroom teaching. Interacting with others in the classroom stimulates ur thinking..thus makin u more competitive and more proactive.

DecentmonKey said…
While not as effective as classroom teaching, they can be very useful for working people to gain quality education in their spare time..

Tight Jeans and Infertility

A study says that wearing tight jeans make men infertile.
Do you think that after this study people will stop wearing tight jeans ?

Lostpatrol said…
:D:D:D:D First reaction: Nirodh ka paisa bach gaya! Afterthought: Americans promote boxer shorts with this logic and discourage our frenchies. Exit strategy: Tight jeans are for girls..not for boys, except you are hung like Sallu!

nz said…
hehehe, I think I read that too somewhere, long time back.

GussaWaala said…
Is it tight jeans or tight undies or tight langots? Or just tight emotions? Maybe we need to loosen up our mind before we worry about our pants LOL

DecentmonKey said…
Need to know more details on this study.. how many men took part in this experimentation ? how many lost their fertility ? or did they experiment on mice ?

hey shrawan i actually did here of this that AIIMs champs did come up with this stating that certain temperature be mantained at the 'below the belt level' and also obese men are at equal disadvantage to this so all we can do is -arrange more of the pajama parties for our folks so the lower adomenal region breathes in that time -else just get home and sleep in loose sleeping suits to over come this menace that shall suffice i think

tejbir said…
if it were the case then after the denim revolution in 70s and 80s the population of the world must have gone down but it refuses to so i don't tend to agree with this research & it seems the person who did the research couldn't find the "right fitting" jeans for himself and so is playing the "grapes are sour"

Naah.. will stop readin abt such studies!

some studies are to be read and left where they were, thats what I think of which this is the one.

Constitution and definition of Minority

The Constitution under a group of articles from 25 to 30 provides for the fundamental rights enjoyed by minority groups- be it linguistic or religious. But there is no clear cut definition of 'minority' in our Constitution.
Why is the expression 'minority'- such a touchy word- undefined under Constitution? Do you think that it is in the interest of country?

blogesh said…
"...provides for the fundamental rights...". In my opnion that means every citizen will enjoy fundamental rights irrespective of any minority in regional, religious, lingual background. Meaning, no overpower by other majority will govern. That MUST have been penned for ensuring co-existence and peacefull living rights for every citizen. Unfortunately we dont hv Dr Ambedkar to slap these days politicians who have played majority-minority card for past 60 years. Politicians hv made that word untouchy by changing our perception...

savy said…
Even though the High court's directive as Muslims no longer being a minority in the state is being hailed as biased n controversial..but given the statistics..even I personally believe why should a certaing class which is also heavily multiplying should enjoy any benefits of minorities..it is as bad a s the issue of reservation..the class divide should only be on the bas e of income per se.

nz said…
hmmm never thought about that. You can say that we are minority here but I wouldnt want any special rights/priviliges/reservations - same rights as every other citizen is good enough.

tejbir said…
Calling a group of people of minority the state just alienates them and makes them feel vulnerable

Who doesn't like previleges? Who doesn't like freebies? Who doesn't like protection? Who doesn't like babyseated? Who doesn't like special gifts? Who doesn't like reserved table? Who? My cats and dogs They don't they fight it out for survival Humans don't want to fight unequal wars, thus 'minority' was created. now my cats n dogs type are the ONLY minority. Agree? Allahabad HC even acknowledged

GussaWaala said…
LOL, you should know better. Its called divide and rule. Our rulers taught us that. There is a saying "you can run but you cannot hide." We may claim to be independent but we still live by the constructs created by our rulers (the brits). And please dont blame the Brits for this. They did what they had to do. We are stupid enough (oops I meant we have 4000 years of history to make us superior) to have adopted the British policies :-)

DecentmonKey said…
This minority card will always be played to try for getting majority in parliament..

frenchita said…
minority status may be given ....yes ,,but should not be abused by the minoriities the laws of the nation should still be observed and honoured by them ..
