Withdrawal of the Army from Jammu Kashmir

Do you think that PDP's insistence on the withdrawal of the Army from J&K is in the interest of country?

Military is needed in Kashmir to protect the borders. No one in Kashmir has the right to prevent that. Army policing the streets of Kashmir? Yes, and for several reasons. Its not the job of Army, it really hasnt helped. terrorism is still rampant. So why not try a new startegy.

Q1: Who is PDP? A1: Senior partner in ruling alliance, led by Syed Mufti and his daughter Mehbooba Mufti, X-INC politicians. Q2: Who captured Mehabooba once and how was she freed? A2: The Kasmiri feedom fighters kidnapped her. Delhi bartered thier companions in its jail to free Mehbooba. Q3: Why did she not persuade them to release her unconditionally? Were they Sheik Abdulla's men who kidnapped her? A3: Once she needed army to help her end the Abdulla dynasty. Now, her politics has changed. She wants the separatists on her side. Because the abdullas have gone over to teh NDP side. Q4: What shall we do? Withdraw the Army? to where? To the borders, forward mobilization? A4: Yes, let us withdraw the army from the streets. Let them go back to barracks and border posts. If 700,000 men were to be stationed at forward posts on border, Musharraf might squeel. His Sino and Yankee godfathers will be told hwo can he fight terror on his western flank when the Indian Army is breathing down his neck on eastern flank. Q5: What is the alternative? A5: Simple. Appoint Mehabooba Mufti to Indian Cabinet and make her the Defence Minister. The Army will be withdrawn. Private armies of Abdulla, Dar, Lone, Shah, Patel, Mufti, Azad and such 370 outfits will kill each other and Kashmir people will be finally free of terrorist's Ak-47.

as for the question... i am a kashmiri though born and brought up in Delhi but i've been going here almost every year till a decade back as many relatives lived there, so i might be reflecting the feeling of a kashmiri & not of a muslim or a hindu Yes, the army must be taken away! It will be a tough decision but it needs to be supported by some strong measures like good opportunities for the kashmiri youth opportunities for earning/doing business/getting education and here i want my country to do what our Father of the nation would have done - continue the growth measures for the state and the people and win them over agreed it will take time and pain, but that is the only solution and to counter army withdrawal, give some additional powers to police and make sure we deploy police personnel who are above any doubt and have shown exemplary integrity
