Ban on Coca-Cola

Ban on Coca-Cola products is in the interest of society or it is political motivated?

Coke must be banned in India without taking political pressure from America. Nothing in India is in the interst of society, its bad politics only. Coprporate is a good movie on this subject.

how long do we want our products to be sub-standard and saved from competition? as for harm that coke may have........ how long are we going to police what the populace eats and drinks? I don't drink coke/pepsi and always prefer Amul Kool (flavored milk) to any other cool drink but i don't advocate any sort of ban. banning things doesn't let people get mature besides huge loss of income for the state. do we really believe that Gujarat is a dry state? any idea how much revenue is lost just because it is wet under the table and how much corruption is abetted?

ahem... LONG LIVE COKE!!!!! PEPSI SUCKS!!! seriously, its just too much...all this bans...come on..we have been having coke for years... next people will ban sugarcane juice coz it has high sugar content thus making you fat. some things can't be banned. On a lighter note, did you know that if they did not add coloring to coke, it would be green in color.

Banning is not the solution.. but the food safety laws should be strengthened and stringent, for any global or local products..

I always felt that this banning is politically motivated...its dug up every time we want to twist US's arms...and these serve as a small reminder. There are so many ills in the Indian society, our water is polluted, some of our drugs are actually poison, and the first thing we go and ban is a drink that mostly the ones with money buy.

I am not for ban on Coca cola products. All other soft drink companies also violate rules. you can't punish just because they are american.I think this will give a wrong signal while India is one of it's close friends. Cheers, -us

Why ban coca cola? If they did something wrong then let a proper and honest judicial process handle it. If coca cola is banned then India (and frenchita..lol) are saying that no Indian product or services should be sold anywhere in the world. Banning coca cola should go hand in hand with banning all out sourcing, BPOs, and garment exports too. Now does that make sense?

Hi Shrawan

Merry Christmas :-)

Btw I always felt that this banning is politically motivated...its dug up every time we want to twist US's arms...and these serve as a small reminder. There are so many ills in the Indian society, our water is polluted, some of our drugs are actually poison, and the first thing we go and ban is a drink that mostly the ones with money buy.
