Women Judges for rape cases

Government is planning to make it mandatory that only women judges will hear rape cases.Do you think that it will help rape victims?

YES, it will. It could make for faster justice, and also easier for the victims to depose before the judge.

It surely is not gonna have too much implication, except that, as BB says, it'll b easier on the victims.. but how much? The main interrogaters the police n most advocates r still male..

Bahut hi sahi pahal hai.Bilkul sahi hona yese hi chahiye kyukee jitna ek Aurat hone ke naate case ki gambhirtaa ko samza aur jaana ja sakta hai vo ek Man Judge ke thoda kathinkar hai. Ek sahraaniy pahal hai.

well i think it wil surely help to some extent..will save ebbarrassment on the victims part...and a woman judge will also hav a better understanding of the case and wil be able to stop the opposition frm harassing the victim(well i belive she should do tht).

It would help to an extent .. I would say that only women prosecuters should be allowed too ... but then they might get a little biased at times ..

Yes , women judges will help rape victims . They are more understanding whereas Indian men are chauvenistic and tend to blame the victim , although some men are stricter with the rapist .

Women judges may be more sensitive to the issue and make it easier for the victim. But there are prosecutors and others present who might be male. But is there any data that shows that male judges have been ineffective? I doubt it. There are flawed laws that need to be re-written. The whole process of ensuring justice should not be delayed further if there are no women judges available.
