Do you think that assassination of Benazir Bhutto is the most serious setback for democracy in Pakistan?Would democracy survive in Pakistan?
Lp53 says: On the contrary, there is a silver lining to the darkest clouds. The population may now finally be fed up with the gore brought upon them by the soldier-mullah-jehadi trinity.
Virtualscorpio says:I suppose it is presently a big setback. The country wud be initially pushed into anachry, militance etc. How soon can the masses rise up is 2 be seen, but seems remote. Any killing is to be abhored & shunned :((
Busybee says: I agree with LP. It will rise like a phoenix... once the people get fed up of killed at the whims and fancies of terrorists.
Tejbir says: it is a setback atleast for the system of democracy and it was all that one could expect if, as someone wrote in an article in Business Line "imposition of democracy is frought with such incidents"
Abx says:democracy is a dream for pakistan. it won't be there till miondset of the people there changes.
Wise donkee says: its a setback but it doesnt mean the situation is utterly hopeless.
Niceguy251 says: Her being killed is surely a setback as it was expected that she would be the next PM with US backing. She would have tried to set things right. However such sad happenings do not leave permanant gap. Hopefully people of Pakistan will rise to the occassion and see that democracy is finally restored. Let us all pray for that. it is definitely needed at this hour.
