Mumbai Molestation and lack of gender sensitisation

Two NRI women were molested by a mob of about 70 men during New Year revelries near Juhu beach .Do you think that this type of incident happens due to lack of gender sensitisation and values? Are you satisfied with the role of police in this case?
Lp53 says:blame it on ethanol, and unfulfilled libido. We can't be a police state

Ajnabi says: blame to our value syatem.. we have lost our roots, we hardly teach our culture and value to our kids.. the grown up genetation doesnt want ot apply there mind to what they are doing.. the do it for so called fun.. cause they think mob has the power to do anything they want.. who in the crowd doesnt have wife, sister or mother.. can they even imagin the same with there family members.. can make exactly make eye contacts with them.. y cant we just treat women just as another human being.. is it so tough.. or do we need harsh rules to control this thing.. gender sensitisation is also something that we only have creted..

The bard says: guess this new year's eve saw few more such horrible incidents...we need to teach such morons that women in real life dont enjoy being groped, though they give excited expressions in bollywood movies...bfore that we need such tough laws that even the mere thought of treating women like this should vanish..probably public stoning or castration

Ruggedboyz says: it is rather disturbing to hear this news for those who do this should better go to a brothel then trouble women on the road it is also disturbing that unlike in US where on festival days ala christmas and new year the state order bans sales of alcohol not thing of that sort is exercisedin india a day before any grandly celebrated day also it will help if the police can be at vigil on those freaky few days to keep law under control when they are mobs of good and also evil bunch on the hike on a really different note the clothes where really tight to call a drunken guy on a new year day

Lionking says: this episode will remain a black spot for the suppossedly "safe city for women" tag of mumbai. but i am glad that mumbai police is doing some fast progress in the case ...

Savy says: this problem ahs always been there..this time it took on bigger proportions..guess alcohol emboldened them more n that they do get away scot free. Police has never ever performed upto expectation..so why bring them in picture at all.
Shweta says: This only means that crowd or the number of people implies no safety .Crowd can actually turn against you.The mob has the power to do anything they want.Women should actually learn how to protect themselves. We should actually not depend upon anyone for our safety.I think women should actually be well equipped to handle such situations.

Niceguy251 says:I really hang my head in shame on this. I feel root cause of such behaviour by men is lack of knowledge how to be in mixed group. By segregating children genderwise right from lower classes we do not expose them to know what is it to be in a mixed group and how to behave in a respectable manner thereon. We need to encourage free mixing of boys and girls with due education about moral values and of course sex education as appropriate to age of children.

Virtualscorpio says: U cant have police everywhere. Its we, the masses who have 2 have morals, awareness, values. May wiser council prevail, even now.

Busybee says: yea, its the result of alcohol and unfulfilled libido, combined with bad parenting. This coupleed with the fact that most eveteasers get away with the behavior bcos most women do not report this. The situation in this case got out of hand because one of the women is said to have abused them for passing comments.
