Dr. Kalam after Retirement

Do you think that Ex-President Dr. Kalam should join politics ?
Is there any other field in which he can work better in the interest of country?

LP53 said...
Let him do what he loves best: talking, teaching, coaching and mentoring; in other words, launching missiles of another kind to lift my nation's morale!!

GussaWaala said...
Why corrupt him with politics?

Ellen said...
Dr. Kalam, or any ex-president for that matter, can make himself still very useful to his country. There's an old expression which goes this way.... -----------''Been there, done that!"--------------- That's what he's got -- experience. He knows about government and governance and bout major issues concerning the country and its people far more than the ordinary person on the street. Because he has lived walked and slept with it in his term. Let him put that knowledge to good use and stand as a guardian to India's journey to its future.

Savy said…
I think there should be dress code..that doesnt mean uniform anyways..but a little modesty in dressing wont hurt any one.

Frenchita said…
yes .. and we all know what kind of restrictions ..on what kind of clothes ..applies to the girls mostly ..but may apply to boys also ...like very short short shorts or tightttt jeans or footwear required ... more important than that is to enforce that the students attend classes or else be made to fail ..

Guy_on_black_YBX said…
Hmmmm, can't vote for any1 as you everything has its own +ve ponits and -ve points can't we do SWOT analysis for both the options

Divya said…
I am in college and my college does have a dress code.....and I don't mind it at all though there are many students who do :D :D

Abx said…
Code is that they should wear a dress

Chakoli said…
I guess Yes....because coming all from different class thr could be a discrimnation amnong themselves......

Vrij said…
Yes. They should. Guys shud wear only jeans n t-shirts. Girls shud preferably be in undergarments or lesser.

Wise donkey said…
no. if 18 year olds can vote, why cant they have the right to dress, the way they want.. re the provocative, whats provocative to one, need not be provocative to another.

Ellen said…
I believe that in every person's closet are different sets of clothes -- one for every place, purpose, and occasion. Casual for everyday wear, modest for church, business for board meets, gowns for gala nights, play garbs for sports , etc etc. School wear can't be any different. The thing is--- it is a place for learning. And the least distractions one gets or gives should be the norm or dress etiquette. That carries on to one's style of dressing. The girls should not bare themselves unrestrained; that should be reserved for glamorous evening wear or for frolic on the beach with beach attire. The guys could also exercise some restraint in wearing those heavy leather jackets; those belong on big motorbikes and in the winter season. It's plain old common sense and respect - you find yourself in a particular place for a particular reason. So then think, speak, act, and dress accordingly. Unless you're there for a different reason.

Sati Act Amendments and Community

GoM clears amendments to the Sati Act which propose to make the entire village or community responsible for the crime. Do you think that this amendments is in the interest of society?

LP53 said…
Making more laws? Hmmm. Fewer tighty enforced laws should suffice. This amendment only proves that law can't see beyond the pyre...

Brahmanyan said…
The intention may be good but bringing unenforceable Laws may not help to achieve the results.

GussaWaala said…
LOL, this is a joke right? Why doesn't the government try implementing without corruption whatever laws they already have? When they can achieve that, then they should try creating new laws. Whats with the drama of new laws? They need to get off their fat corrupt rears and do some work.

Tejbir said…
and who will be responsible for mental, physical and emotional torture of women in homes that look good in all sense not only in rural but in chic urban areas too! ?????

Abx said…
intention of law is for betterment but there are loop holes shold be avoided

Chakoli said…
laws...laws...and laws...!!! Thr are already so many...why dont they enforce the laws strictly...?? The problem cud be solved then and thr...!!

Savy said…
arre baba..isnt that an amendment to an already existent act? I dont think this one is bad..it should work better.

New 7 wonders of the world and textbook

Do you think that new 7 wonders of the world should be included in textbook?

LP53 said…
Why not, let' s begin in Mexico...

Lavina said…
was this whole exercise all that authentic?

Redivider said…
We cannot create a parallel institution or organization by 'essemessization'. The votes on SMSs do not confer a status contrary to what UNESCO says. In matters of culture the international institution UNESCO has the last word. We have to respect the Institutions we create as such. Otherise chaos rules. The pyramids dating back to 5000 BC were given an honorary status by these pseudo-culture-vultures. I do not find any irony more than this. If you permit me to say that this whole exercise is a big 'humbug', a clever ploy to mint some easy money. The organizers must thank only the 'technology' for their 'audacity'. As for 'textbooks', it makes no difference anyway, because children/students do not remember any or all these marvels as they grow as the average memory levels fall year after year.

Ellen said…
Why not?! There's a lot of history in every one of them. That should be good to know. I have no idea if this new list was created by a reliable official source... but let's leave that. Every outstanding piece of work or achievement from those countries mentioned deserve to be recognized, admired, and remembered. By that alone it deserves to be in books.

Frenchita said…
You mean ..in the history text books ? hmm dont know .....sorry :)

Chakoli said…
Ofcourse they said wud be...and why not...children shud know the wonders and why are they so??they shud knw that their ancestors were gr8 architecture....some cud be motivated and thr cud be some fiture scientists and engineers...:-)))

Tejbir said…
yes, they should be the kids should be taken to these places so that they can be better informed when next time such voting happens provided its more credible then
